Meet Erin

"There are moments when things shift and it can feel overwhelming to find your way again. Therapy can be a place to make sense of that shift and find a way forward that feels manageable."

Hi, I'm Erin, a Registered Nurse and student therapist completing my practicum placement at Healthy Minds Psychotherapy. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Windsor and am currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, under the clinical supervision of Katharine De Santos.

My clinical background spans acute trauma and neurosurgery at St. Michael's Hospital and physical rehabilitation at Toronto Rehab and Sinai Health. In those roles, I sat with people during some of the most vulnerable and uncertain chapters of their lives, supporting them through injury, recovery, and long-term change. That experience shaped how I think about healing: as something rarely straightforward, deeply individual, and profoundly connected to both body and mind.

I have a particular focus on supporting individuals navigating health-related challenges, whether that means adjusting to a new diagnosis, managing a chronic condition, or making sense of how physical experiences have affected your sense of self, your relationships, and your day-to-day life. I also work with healthcare professionals and caregivers who are managing significant stress while continuing to show up for others.

My approach is trauma-informed, person-centred, and flexible. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, adapting what I use to suit where you are. I believe this is your journey and my role is to walk alongside you as you find your way through it.

Therapeutic Approaches

  • Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • Gestalt Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Somatic Therapy

  • Mindfulness-Based Interventions

Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of work I enjoy cooking, strength training, live music, and comedy shows. I also love travelling and finding new ways to connect with my husband, friends, and family. These are the things that keep me grounded and remind me of what matters most.
