Meet Katharine
"You don't have to have everything fall apart to deserve support. Many of my clients are capable and high-functioning, and still quietly struggling. Both things can be true."
Hi, I'm Katharine, a Registered Psychotherapist with over 25 years of clinical experience in Canada and the United States. I am the Founder and Clinic Director of Healthy Minds Psychotherapy, where I lead a trauma-informed, culturally attuned practice serving clients across Toronto and Ontario.
I specialize in supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, fertility challenges, and significant life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning and capable in their daily lives, yet feel internally overwhelmed, stuck, or impacted by experiences that continue to surface in the present. My role is to help you understand your emotional responses, process difficult experiences, and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.
I am a trained EMDR therapist, and I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and attachment theory. My style is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I bring the clinical tools and the space to help you use that knowledge.
Over more than two decades of clinical work, I have had the privilege of sitting with people through some of the most vulnerable chapters of their lives. That trust is something I hold with great care.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of the therapy room, I believe in the same things I encourage in my clients: rest, connection, and joy. You'll find me sharing laughter with family and friends, making homemade pasta from scratch, or out on walks with my puppy, Rosie, who is unofficially working toward her own therapy dog credentials.
