Meet Rosie

"I may not have my certification yet, but I have never once made a client feel judged."

Hi, I'm Rosie, resident cockapoo and therapy dog in training at Healthy Minds Psychotherapy. I am the beloved puppy of Katharine, our Founder and Clinic Director, which means I have been hearing about the importance of a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space since before I was fully housetrained. I take the work very seriously.

I have not yet made my official office debut, but big things are in the works and I am told the team is very excited. In the meantime I have been preparing diligently from home: greeting visitors at the door, sitting with anyone who seems sad, and perfecting my soulful eye contact. My training is going extremely well.

Research consistently shows that the presence of a dog in a therapeutic setting can lower cortisol levels, reduce anxiety, and make it easier for clients to open up. I consider this my calling. I have also been known to fall asleep mid-session, which Katharine insists is grounding rather than unprofessional. I choose to agree with her.

When I do arrive at the office, I look forward to meeting you. I already know I will love you unconditionally. That part comes very naturally to me.
